Every Sunday morning at 10:30 we offer children ages 3-17
the opportunity to learn about God and his love for us in
our Sunday School classes. Our teachers are committed to promoting
the Christian faith through the teachings of Jesus, and to
the development of a sound personal relationship with God.
The curriculum is structured for the needs of each age group,
encouraging each child to experience and explore their unique
and individual gifts. Mission is our emphasis, as it is our
belief that we are God’s hands and heart, and must learn
to share and care for each other, both in our church community
and world community. We participate in several mission projects
such as the Heifer Project, which reaches out to our global
family. We make special cards and gifts for local shut-ins
and nursing home residents.
Our belief is that Jesus created us for fellowship with
each other, and so we gather together for many special activities,
including apple picking, pumpkin picking, a Halloween party,
a sleep-over on the Friday night after Thanksgiving, swim
parties and barbeques.
Vacation Bible School is a unique and exciting opportunity
for children to meet and worship together during the summer
with a program that includes dinner, crafts, and enjoying
the great outdoors.
The annual Christmas Pageant enables our children to retell
the story of the birth of Jesus in both traditional and creative
ways, as it encourages our children to showcase their individual
talents.
The Calvin Presbyterian Church is also committed to offering
opportunities for adults to continue to deepen their faith
and pursue a greater understanding of their purpose and calling
through Bible studies and study groups throughout the year.
We must challenge ourselves, and each other, as we continue
in our journey of God’s plan for us, and the world.
